Share this article, and also want to know if there are any latest research results on the relationship between calorie restriction/intermittent fasting and HBV? (I didn’t search it)
Can hepatitis B patients try calorie restriction (20%/40%) and intermittent fasting (fasting 1 day/2 days a week)?
I read the discussion in the community The Influence of short/long-term starvation on hepatitis b
Hi, I have been doing 16/8 intermittent fasting for months now and my last blood checkup was good, even better than before (cholesterol levels and glucose). I haven’t seen any bad effects so far.
Good luck.
Not just fasting and limiting calories but most importantly regular exercise at least 15-30 minutes a day. It’s really about changing to a healthy lifestyle and managing stress.
@Ace
First of all, congratulations, I am happy to see that you are doing better than before.
I would like to ask you, do you have any corresponding adjustments to your diet while doing 16/8 intermittent fasting?
Can you share some articles, forums, websites, etc. that you think are important?
@TomPsu
Thanks for your advice, I exercise every day.
Can you share your fasting/calorie restriction methods, tips, dietary modification suggestions?
Dear @FUMING,
As mentioned in other threads (The Influence of short/long-term starvation on hepatitis b? and Lifestyle changes, nutrition, and supplements for hep b), there are not many specific aspects of diet that will directly affect hepatitis B. It is more of a holistic issue of improving one’s health to give your body the best chance of fighting the infection.

Hi Fuming, there are many articles on intermittent fasting and most of them point to different health benefits. I don’t have any specific forum or website to recommend. In my case, I saw several improvements, including better sleep quality leading to less stress, improved liver function (I had fatty liver, but not anymore), improved general energy levels and blood results (cholesterol and glucose). So If you eat good, healthy food during the 8-hour window you should be fine and your liver will also thank you.
@Ace Thank you very much
