Hi @Dan,
Great question, though I am unaware of any link between spicy food and hepatitis B at all. I would be very surprised if it had any effect (positive or negative).

Dear @Aleksaa you do not have HrepB. You are not like us. We have it for life.
Lucky for you the HepB virus went away. Meaning there is no virus to pass to others. ![]()
For your babies sake please stop torturing yourself. That is harmful to your baby. Babies know when we are upset. Not eating and sleeping will dry your milk up too. breast milk is best for baby.
When will you get her the final doze of the vaccine?
thanks for the comments, Iām scared, sro got hbc and hbs from me through the planet, Iāve never checked the hbv dna and I heard that if she gets the vaccine at birth, thereās a high probability that she didnāt get it
Iām sorry I donāt understand what you are saying. And Iām sorry you are scared. Please let us help you.
Do not worry, your baby is safe and you are also safe. Continue with Third dose of vaccine. Also relax as everything is ok.
Hello, what really bothers me is that the child did not receive the hemoglobin and vaccine at birth. This is causing me the biggest problem because I did not know from my results that I had previously been in contact with HepB.
Dear @Aleksaa
There is NO risk of you transferring HepB to babyā¦ā¦0 chance. NONE.
So start eating and sleeping. And get the 3rd dose for baby.
maybe I donāt know how to explain the situation before I had a child, I already had contact 5/6 years ago and the hbsag percent remained negative, the antibodies remained hbc positive and hbs 944, so the child did not receive anything at birth from the vaccine, which says that mothers who were in contact with it must also be protected, my child later started to get 6/1 after two months, I read a lot of all kinds of information about this, I still donāt know about my hbv results, how long many viruses do I have occult hep b this is terrible and so painful that a mother can unknowingly harm her unborn child
Hi @Aleksaa,
This is useful context. If you had hepatitis B 5 or 6 years ago and have remained HBsAg negative since then with high antibody levels, that is a very good sign. It would be surprising to me if you had any HBV DNA at all. While occult HBV exists, itās not very common, and people who have it typically have very low viral loads (<100) that carry an extremely low risk of transmission. So I would say that the chance that your baby got anything from you seems incredibly far-fetched. Again, I recommend making sure sheās had the final dose of the vaccine, and then subsequently taking her in 2-3 months later for a blood test to check her antibodies.
It just bothers me that she should have gotten the vaccine right after giving birth and that hurts me a lot. I donāt know what to expect. Iām failing every day. I definitely have to test her. I donāt know what awaits me either. How will I proceed?
I understand that youāre frustrated that she didnāt get the vaccine right away. However, please keep in mind that birth dose vaccination isnāt standard for all babies in every country around the world. Iām not sure what country youāre from, but if universal birth dose vaccination is not standard there, thatās a larger issue with public health policy, and you as an individual really shouldnāt blame yourself for just following what the doctors recommended to you.
I understand that this is easier said than done. I was adopted from China in the 1990s, and likely infected at birth. I spent many years feeling angry that my birth mother didnāt get the appropriate prenatal care and prophylaxis for me, but as I started getting more involved in the hep B community, I started hearing stories from other people who were in a similar situation. It definitely helped me feel less alone, and I started to realize that the lack of access to testing and vaccination was a more systemic issue in China at the time.
My adoptive parents are from Toronto, Canada, where there isnāt an infant HBV vaccination program either. My family has relatively high trust in the healthcare system, and my parents made sure that I had all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule. However, my parents didnāt know that hepatitis B was endemic in China, so they didnāt go out of their way to have me tested as soon as they brought me to Canada. I donāt blame my adoptive parents at all for not having me tested/diagnosed sooner. They were just following the advice that doctors gave them.
I hope that talking to other people in this community can help you find some peace and acceptance of your situation. I promise you, you are not failing.
if your baby did not get virus then you did not fail, main thing is to test your baby is negative HBsAg and has developed anti-bodies. As long as baby did not get any virus then its all fine.
