INTRODUCTION THREAD: People affected by Hep B

Apologies to have missed this post @Liyah12, I think it may have escaped my notice due to being in a different thread. I’m so sorry to hear about your experiences, but hope you are continuing to feel the support from this community. You are not alone! Please keep us up to date with how you’re progressing.

Welcome to the forum, @lsrdp! As @et5656 mentioned, indeed it is good to see these levels reducing over time. I’m wondering if you are having ongoing check ups regarding your HBV markers. It is common to see clearance of HBV with immune flares like you are experiencing.

As above, please keep us up to date on your status.

Hello! I don’t understand english, so I write and read with the help of an online translator. I am 51 years old, male, asian and I live in Brazil.

I was hospitalized in 2004 (30 yo) with symptoms of hepatitis, and the doctor informed me that it was hepatitis B. I took the test he requested and continued my life as normal.

In October 2025, I discovered that I was a chronic carrier of hepatitis B:
HBSag = positive
Igg = negative
Igm = negative
Anti-HBs = negative (6 mUi/mL)
HBEag = negative
Anti-HBe = positive
Other tests were performed in August 2025 and were OK:

ALT = 15
AST = 28
GGT = 15
Alk Phosphatase = 98

After consulting with the hepatologist, I had more tests done (January/2026):
HBSag = positive
Igg = negative
Igm = negative
Anti-HBs = negative (4 mUi/mL)
HBEag = negative
Anti-HBe = negative
HB Viral = 50 IU/ml

Fibroscan = 4.7 KPa / CAP = 166 dB/m

ALT = 10
AST = 19
GGT = 31
Alk Phosphatase = 111
AFP = 4.6

I am learning a lot about this disease in this community and I hope that we can all live peacefully with this little monster. Thank you.

Welcome @Isao_Su !

I’m glad this community has been helpful to you. Your lab results look very encouraging with very low viral load, normal liver enzymes, and no evidence of fibrosis/cirrhosis. Keep up the great work! It’s still a good idea to get blood tests every 6 months to check if the disease activity has changed. Hepatitis B can be unpredictable sometimes.
