GSK confirms that this a major advance in CHB management and looks forward to further regulatory decisions in other countries.
Too many restriction for Hipsago .
Thank you for sharing this important development. I am a patient from Uzbekistan living with chronic HBV/HDV co-infection, with persistent active HDV despite treatment.
I am particularly interested in whether GSK or the HBV research community is developing any HDV-related or sequential treatment strategies involving bepirovirsen or other new therapies.
If anyone is aware of a currently recruiting HDV clinical trial, expanded/compassionate access programme, or treatment-access pathway that may accept an international patient from Uzbekistan, I would be very grateful for any information or contact details.
Thank you for helping patients find legitimate treatment options.
i also had HDV, i went for pegylated interferon injections for almost 1 year
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry that you also had to go through this. I have been struggling with HBV/HDV as well, and my health situation has become increasingly difficult.
May I ask how your treatment with pegylated interferon went and whether it helped you control the HDV? Did you eventually find another effective treatment after interferon?
Any advice or experience you can share would mean a lot to me. Thank you again.

@Bansah1 @ThomasTu any update regardjng bepirovirsen launched in japan like its cost per shot, tenure etc.? Whether it is a one time course in lifetime or can be repeated until functional cure achieved?
I don’t have any information about cost or usage guidelines yet, everything is still in the early stages. We might know more probably early next year when they become available to the public. It takes some time from approval to having them in pharmacies for patients.
Thanks, Bansah1
I am curious to find out if they will allow Bepi to be injected by patients and about recommendation for monitoring frequency, in addition to price.

I wonder the same things. I say this because I had a severe ALT flare (>20x ULN) while on bepi, and if I had been administering it at home instead of getting it at my provider’s office (and getting my blood drawn at the same time while I was there), I would have just kept injecting it. Also, let’s remember that bepi needs to be stored frozen until ready to use, and then must be used within 4 hours once thawed.
@et5656 Hi Emma, i remember I saw your experience with Bepirovirsen trials here in the forum if I am righteous, hopefully you can help by providing the link thankfully ![]()
@MedMR It’s this thread GSK B-United Study
Hi Suresh, thank you for sharing your experience. Since I also have chronic HDV, your experience with pegylated interferon would be very helpful to me.
Could you please tell me:
- Did your HDV RNA become undetectable during or after interferon treatment?
- Did the result remain negative after you stopped interferon?
- How are you doing now, and did you need any further HDV treatment?
- Did you experience significant side effects during the treatment?
Thank you very much for sharing your experience.
