Hi @Notover,
This is not a common experience for many HBV patients on antivirals. I have been on treatment for 11 years and have not experienced anything like what you are describing. However, I strongly recommend that you discuss these issues with your doctor to investigate them further and determine the underlying causes of these experiences. Keep is posted when you can. Yes, definitely agree with @Bansah1. This is similar to the discussions in previous threads about abdominal pain (it can also be driven by other conditions and is not only due to hepatitis B or medication).

Please if that’s the case, try and eat on time to avoid what you experience. It’s probably not the medication, our body can react in some strange ways. At least you know what causes your symptoms, if we can try and improve by not getting too hungry or late before eating we can resolve this issue.

I understand your pain. I experienced ulcers in the past, and it was not fun at all. Before you eat, try to drink some water. Try getting some snacks readily available to you (nuts, biscuits, etc.), so that when meals are delayed, you can have them for the time being while you wait. Fruits are good, but avoid those with acidic content, such as oranges and pineapple. Be mindful of spicy foods, as they can cause discomfort. I had to avoid spicy foods for over a year in my case. Don’t wait to get really hungry before you eat. These changes helped me get through it. I hope they help in your situation as well. Best, Bansah1
