Just new here and I’m been have regular monitoring with my doctor. Just want your advise 6months agi my viral load is 4259 and after 3 months went up again . All my blood work are normal ALT AST Liver fibrosis panel blood test and other blood work are normal except the viral load went up from 4259 to 5220. Should I start medication? . Please let me your thoughts based on your experience.
I would love to wait another 3 months and wait if ever my vital still high and then I will decide if I will go on treatment medication.
Hi @jessie welcome! High viral load on its own is not necessarily an indication for treatment if ALT and AST are normal. If you are young, and don’t have a family history of liver cancer, I think it would be okay to just monitor. However, if you’re older than 40, the risk of liver cancer starts to go up significantly, and treatment can help to mitigate some of that risk.

Welcome to the community. Yes, the viral load has increased. While I am okay with you waiting for 3 months (it will be here before you know it) to decide on treatment, I will encourage you to have this conversation with your doctor. They know your condition better than any of us here, so their counsel and guidance will be very helpful.
I agree with the advice given so far. The other thing to note is that HBV viral levels bounce up and down somewhat in people, and a change from 4295 to 5220 is not really that large considering how high HBV can get in some people. It could go down in your next measurement just from random fluctuations, so look at long term trends or sudden large spikes (like getting 10-fold higher).
Regardless, @Banshah1’s suggestion to have a careful conversation with your physician is excellent. You need to be comfortable with why care decisions are being made, and discussions with your care team will help you reach that comfort zone.
Yes was diagnoses since 2023 , ever since my Viral Load was low 125
just last six month and follow monitor atter 3 months . i have a regular monitor all my blood work
ultrasound are normal except the viral load . Yes , I will see my doctor next week and i will discuss with her if she want to start me on treatment or wait and see for my next blood work if my viral load will come down or will be stable. live in Los Angeles, Ca M 50 and i exercise regular with monitoring

I have deep conversations with my doctor yesterday and she’s wants me to keep monitoring for now. She’s review all my blood work and ultrasound. Not to start me on medication yet. Hopefully on my next bloodworky vital will go down.
