There has been studies that show Vemlidy can cause high cholesterol. I am 99% confident this is the case for me as my cholesterol and triglycerides were high after i started to take Vemlidy many years ago (dont remember exactly when). I recently started to take Viread due to insurance coverage, im interested in knowing how soon after would my numbers start to decrease? My next blood work is scheduled in June, i started Viread a week ago
Hi, I also switched from Vemlidy to Viread because of the same suspicion that Vemlidy was increasing my LDL cholesterol and I saw ~20% improvement after a couple of months.
Reversion of cholesterol may take some time. Meta-studies report decreases of cholesterol and LDL a year after discontinuation of TAF (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/jia2.26358), though this is in studies of people living with HIV.
