Hi, I’m so sorry to know yours has not been covered in the past. I am with United and OptumRX too. My old GI Dr who switched my med to Vemlidy has retired, I’m with a new Dr, I do hope he can help me.

@qazzz it’s okay. I took Viread before Vemlidy came out, and I didn’t have any side effects with it, so I switched to the generic version of Viread, and all has been well for me (I have stayed undetectable).

yes, UnitedHealthcare approved after exception request since Jan. will see how it go next Jan

I have Unitedhealthcare and have been trying to get Vemlidy prescribed, they have denied twice. I asked my doctor’s office to try and appeal once more. It is so stressful to deal with the back and forth.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, please keep us up to date on how you are progressing so that other can learn what works. We need all the people accessing treatment that we can to prevent the risk of liver disease progression.
