All the test results in the past are good including the very recent of one year ago. I consulted with my doctor who recommend not to take the medication for my case.

I am not an expert at all, just a fellow patient. It sounds like what I have too from my ultrasound result: “Coarse appearance of the liver parenchyma,” I was told not to worry as this is common among CHB patients. If you are worried maybe do a Fibro scan?

Hi @DZ6,

Welcome back to the forum and thanks for sharing your recent results. Generally coarseness means small scars scatter the sound waves unevenly. It’s a sign of past liver stress, not necessarily new damage. Your doctor will likely suggest another test, called a fibroscan, to assess exactly how much scarring the liver has as it could indicate low/limited fibrosis to severe fibrosis/cirrhosis.

Also, this scan may be affected by the “suboptimal visibility” mentioned in the report, so some caution has to be taken in interpreting this result too far.

Hope this helps,
Thomas
