Please help me understand this…
I just get my first ultrasound report… what’s hepatic lesion or cavernous hemangiomass… I was recently diagnosed with fatty liver as well…
CLINICAL INDICATION: Chronic hepatitis B.
TECHNIQUE: Transverse and longitudinal images of the right upper quadrant of the abdomen.
COMPARISON: No comparisons are available at this time.
FINDINGS: No gallstone, gallbladder wall thickening, pericholecystic fluid or dilation of the common bile duct is seen.
The liver measures 13 cm in maximal diameter and contains multiple focal
echogenic lesions within the parenchyma, the largest in the right lobe measures 1.6 cm in diameter. The right kidney and observed portions of the pancreas are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION:
The liver is normal in size. There are multiple echogenic hepatic lesions, may represent cavernous hemangiomas. This could be further evaluated with pre and postcontrast CT or MRI.
Dear @Nass,
Hemangiomas are a benign mass of blood vessels in the liver. These occur in people even without HBV infection (we don’t really now why) and very rarely cause any symptoms.
While it is possible to discern hemangiomas from liver cysts or HCC masses with a well performed ultrasound, given your chronic HBV infection, it may be prudent to follow up with a more definitive imaging of the liver (CT scan) to be sure.

Thank you @availlant
Could it be something to do with the fatty liver ?
Is Focal Hepatic lesion caused by fatty liver?
Dear @Nass ,
With fatty liver, excess fat tends to be distributed fairly uniformly within individual liver cells.

I also get my fibroscan with cap score…
Not official, but the final average was 5.2kpa
And my cap score is 240…
So probably no fatty liver anymore… last yr the score was 269…
I have appointment with the doctors in a week to go over these…
But the multiple focal lesion seen by ultrasound is making me not to sleep…
Dear @Nass ,
I certainly understand that you are anxious. Howwver, based on the findings of the untrasound report I would not be overly concerned that HCC was the cause of the findings. Remember fatty liver or not was never really an issue here (as your recent fibroscan proves).
I urge you to try to not be so concerned. However please disuss all this with your doctor at your next visit, including a follow-up CT to make everyone more comfortable.
