Hepatitis B Information

Hello,
My friend was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis B and I was wondering if there are any useful websites I could look at to learn more about Hepatitis B and support her. Thank you.

Hello @anonymous

Thanks TT.

First, congratulations on finding the right forum. If you want to ask anything about vgb, don’t hesitate. Currently, there is a lot of useful information about vgb. I don’t know where you live? And what kind of information about vgb are you looking for?

I have Hepatitis B. Are there certain foods I’m not allowed to eat? For example, fried food or junk food?

Dear @beli137,

Welcome to the forum, great to hear from you and thank you for your question. It is best to eat a balanced diet, not too much, mostly vegetables, and less processed foods. This will limit the amount of fat build-up in the liver that can also lead to damage. Vietnamese food seems to be one of the more healthy, as the rates of fatty liver in Vietnam is quite low (less than 2% vs. over 30% of Australians!).

Hope this helps,
Thomas

Thanks Thomas, does this also mean I should stop drinking?

No problem, @beli137! Minimizing alcohol is best for the liver as there is no “safe” level of alcohol. If it is impossible to completely eliminate it from your life, then less alcohol is at least better than some alcohol.

Hope this helps!
Thomas
