I found it convenient to take my medicine with hot water cause anytime I use room temperature I feel like I want to throw up but with hot water I don’t feel like that at all. Is it safe to take TDF with hot water? I checked online and it says hot water can have side effects as it will dissolve the medicine quickly. @HealthExperts @ScienceExperts

In solution, TDF undergoes significant decomposition at 80degC after 60 min but is quite stable at 55 degC. However TDF is in a film sealed pill so it will not really begin to dissolve until it hits the low pH of the stomach lumen.
The hot water you are drinking with the pill actually cools quite quickly so I don’t think you are going to have any issues with a sub-optimal activity of the dose of TDF you are taking.
Since you have to take the pill each day, finding a method which makes taking it as easy as possible is important.
