Hi @Sancho ,
Your result means that you have a very small amount of HBV DNA detectable in your blood. This is generally a good thing, as it’s associated with a better prognosis. Are you on any antiviral medication?
Yes, I am taking it.
Okay great. So this means that your medication is working as expected. Some people can get to “Target not detected” while others will still have a very small amount of DNA detectable (e.g. < 10). Some people flip back and forth between TND and < 10. The difference is not really significant. Keep up the good work!
Hi @Sancho
It means that your body still have very very low amount of HBV DNA in the blood from antiviral suppression as @et5656 has mentioned and due to the limitations of laboratory machine performance that cannot count the number of viruses in the blood that has less than 9 IU/ml . Another synonym that we use is lower limit of quantification (LLOQ).However, antiviral drug cannot suppress the production of HBsAg and it still be measured and positive in the blood. I hope this may help you.
