Could it be that I have hepatitis B despite the negative results? I have a rash, loss of muscle mass, itching…symptoms have lasted for years. I see that a lot of people on this forum have these symptoms and who have or have had hepatitis b.
Especially when I add that I was exposed to risky sex.
A year after that risk, I made markers:
Hbs ag-negative
Anti HBs-negative
Anti HBc total-negative
Hi Marko,
One year after possible exposure having all markers negative is conclusive - you are not carrier of HPV.
The symptoms you are describing can be a lot of things.
I would do all STD blood work just to make sure:
HIV Ag/Ab combo (4th gen)
Syphilis (RPR + TPHA/FTA-ABS)
Anti-HCV + HCV RNA
I would first focus on ruling out HIV - A 4th-generation HIV test at 1+ year post-exposure is fully conclusive so you should know straight away.
If all of those are negative then you go and do other tests to rule out some inflammatory myopathy, lupus, thyroid disease, celiac and do a full liver workup. Simply see a GP and talk with them, this is your health and you have only one - treat it with priority.
It can be simply stress or the food you eat so before you have conclusive tests come back you shouldn’t stress out.
However, don’t wait too long. We have modern medicine - use it.
Thank you very much for the comprehensive answer and good advice. I’m going to go further to find out the causes of the problems.
I agree here with @pablito and it is consistent with the responses to your previous posts: you do not have a HBV infection, and it is likely that your symptoms are caused by other issues.
