kalyan here newly diagnosed with hb in june mid but i got sysmptoms from june first week only. after diagnosis the viral load was very high its more than 20 million and is out of range on machine. got very much fatigue and liver enzymes sipked into 1100 and bilirubin went into 16 . so doctors said its acute severe phase and since its severe i was given TAF 25 MG along with omnacortil to save liver they say … now after 2 months doxtor says it tuned chronic as there is still enzymes high even after 2 months of antiviral ..I am scared to think about it being chronic . are there anyways to know or anyone cane out of this situation

Welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about your situation. Yes, your doctor has said you have a chronic infection; however, don’t lose hope, as we have seen patients who recover close to or over a year after an acute infection. Please don’t lose hope; keep taking the medication, and maybe you are one of those patients who take longer.
What are your current viral load and liver enzyme numbers? If they have reduced to lower numbers, that tells me the medicine is working and needs time. Best, Bansah1
Sorry to hear about your situation. I’m surprised that the doctor is already saying that your infection is chronic, because generally a chronic infection lasts longer than 6 months. That being said, I’m crossing my fingers for you hoping that you can clear it! Please keep us posted on how you get on.

Your results indicate a reduction in AST and ALT levels, which is good. The antivirals are working, so keep taking them. Whether you have an acute or a chronic infection, stay on them. Do not stop taking them. Best, Bansah1
i have completed tapered omnacortil(steroids) 1 month back during this month did not see any changes but since kast few days i am havnng muscle pains very first hour or my wakeup the urine color us normal no yellow eyes and no other synotoms what could you think night be happenig with me, also not getting complete sleep overnight i do get up 3 to 4 times and anyway sleep soon but i see disturbances. the hepatologist i go for does not care too nuch abiut i am scared i did not get correct doctor though.. any suggestions on what may happenig? thanks
I am sorry to hear about this. From my experience steroids especially prednisone has caused me muscle issues and swelling. So, I don’t use it unless my doctor thinks it’s necessary and only for a short time.
I am unsure of what is going on. Please talk to a doctor not your liver specialist to examine your symptoms. There so many health issues which can cause muscle issues.
Let us know how things go. Try some stretching and massage to see if that helps. Salt baths (20-30 minutes soak in a tub)with Epson salt can be helpful for muscle pain also. Reduce stress as they can create tension in our muscles. I hope you find some answers and feel better soon.

thanks for reply @Bansah1 Have you seen any severe cases where steriids are inteoduced for short time along with tenofovir when viral loads are above machine readable ranges? or high..to calm down inflamation and in a life time what cases arise to cause these severe acute cases again if maintaining proper diet and medication antivirals can we completely eliminate severe acute cased happening in future again for chronic patients?
I don’t know if I understand your question. I was on antivirals when I was prescribed prednisone and it didn’t affect my liver or hepatitis B if that’s your question. If I had liver inflammation I could probably benefit from the prednisone treatment I will hope.
@Bansah1 If I’m understanding you correctly, it sounds like you were prescribed prednisone for a reason completely unrelated to HBV. Also, if I’m understanding @hyd.kalyan’s question, I think you’re asking whether it’s standard to prescribe steroids for acute HBV. I’m not a clinician, and I don’t know what the exact guidelines are for treating acute HBV, but I have heard of doctors prescribing steroids when there are signs of liver decompensation (e.g. jaundice, blood clotting issues, fluid retention, etc) to prevent outright liver failure. The rationale is that steroids blunt the immune system, and the flares seen in acute HBV are generally caused by the immune system trying to clear out the virus. I view flares as a double-edged sword, because they do in fact help to clear out the virus, but some peoples’ bodies go too far, and end up with severe liver damage/failure. It’s not possible to predict who will have an asymptomatic acute case of hepatitis B, who will have mild symptoms, and who will have very severe symptoms.
Hi @et5656@Bansah1 Part of my question is andwered on is it okay to use steroids and I think only because of sevre case my doctor has added them based on what is said.
Now my question is why acute cased come again even after on antivirals an good diet? what makes vitus go up again and cause this immunity flare , is it the virus grow or the inmunity wake or together that triggers this acute phases? is there a way to avoid such severe cases in future as I know that i am now living with hbv and using antivirals taf 25 in ny case.

In general flare ups occur from time to time. Why they happen in acute cases is the body’s immune system trying to fight the virus. There are also reasons such as certain medications, a weak immune system, an illness (caused by another viral or bacterial infection), among others which can affect our immune system and lead to flare ups. It is hard to avoid these completely, as they will happen without you knowing it is happening unless you get a blood work then the results will show. I hope this answers your question and is helpful. @Bansah1@et5656 Not sure what other drugs we have. i have question. what if virus develops resisitanec to taf 25 i am currently using its best antiviral as far as i know. i am scared if their is life long or may be few more years from now there is solution to control the virus. if a missed doses cause virus to develop resistance and is that antiviral no longer useful again to same patient?
Hi, this is a good question. I don’t know what happens in such situations. It’s something I think you can discuss with your doctor to understand what happens in those situations. But, I can ask my hepatologist when I see them next week and let you know. I hope there are some responses from others knowledgeable about this.

I would like to brief my story but will keep it short, don’t want to bore anyone.
I was negative until May 10, 2026 and in my regular checkup done on Aug 26,2026 hbv came positive. I ran through all the tests after the first confirmation.
Reports look like this:
LFT: normal no enzymes spikes
Fibroscan: value is 4 no liver damage or stiffness but fatty liver
Antibodies: None( no IgM or IgG)
Viral count: 37000 IU/ML
After consulting with doctors they are saying by timelines it looks acute but count is high 37k and strange of no high enzyme spikes. It can be very new or silent chronic.
Doctors are advising to wait next 3 months assuming to pass through 6 months wait window assuming i got it in May end or June.
I want to understand about Ayurveda, which doctor you consulted here in India? Can you share reference or anyone who got cured in acute phase.
I consulted with 3 ayurveda doctors they are suggesting Panchkarma therapy for 15 days and some liver medicine and syrups. I want to know is it safe to take ayurveda in my acute phase, has anyone witnessed for the cure?
I am scared to take Ayurveda as per Allopathy doctor, this Ayurveda can inflammate the liver more and they are just asking to wait.
I don’t want to loose any slightest chance to cure this in my early phase if I can.
I would really appreciate if anyone can share their acute recovery experiences here and Ayurveda doctor reference also.
but since i have joined this forum i have learned few things.
viral load can grow edponentially high in acute phase which is expected in your case reaching 37k. and liver enzymes spike only when the immune system recognises the virus and starts fighting against killing infected liver cells.
top hospitals in india/telangana are star,aig,yashodha not sure about other states. i was advised not to go for ayurveda so those are not ayurvedic hospital listed above.
Is there anyone who cleared the acute hbv or tried any other source of medicine that helped in clearing the virus. I dont want to just sit idle do nothing about my case. I want to try everything if it can cure me.
