Hi all,

This is really exciting! It is the first of the new waves of treatments offering higher functional cure rates to be approaching licensure. Iā€™m very enthusiastic, but it is important to remember that this is not yet a cure-all for HBV infections. Its a very good improvement, but not everyone will be cured, so tempering expectations to reflect the new data will be good.

Yes, I heard they will be presenting the data from this study at EASL this year in Barcelona. Looking forward to when the publication comes out! I feel optimistic that the functional cure rate will be at least as good as what we see with interferon, plus the drug has less severe side effects, and duration of treatment is shorter than interferon.
