Hair transplant refusal due to hep b

Hello,

Why is that some hair clinic demand proof that you’re not infected with hiv, hbv, hcv before the surgery of hair transplant?

I’m bald and would like to transplant hair but some clinics would refuse me because of my hbv+ status.

Dear @arb,

I think with any procedure that involves opening the skin, it is important to inform the doctors about your condition so they can bring in controls to avoid transmission to other people.

If they are refusing you, they perhaps have no faith in their own procedures to stop other people from getting it. If this is the case, then it may even be safer that you do not choose to go with them.
