Sorry if I’m posting a topic that has been already discussed.
For those that are living with Chronic HepB, many suggest that flu vaccination is important but for those that are unfortunate and have the flu how critical is it to receive the flu antiviral within 48 hours? Or it’s not as critical as some have suggested.
It is known that Flu antiviral improves the recovery time 1-2 days quicker but for those with chronic HepB will it help much?
Hi @TomPsu,
I had the flu a few months back (I was vaccinated), but I started antivirals about a week later because I did not know what it was. It took me about a week of things not improving before seeing a doctor. The flu antivirals worked fine for me with no issues. I don’t think those two antivirals interfere with each other at all. Hi @TomPsu,
I agree with @Bansah1 - having hep B should not affect the function of flu antivirals at all.
It is best if the flu antiviral is taken soon after symptoms. The symptoms are the body’s response to the infection, and may already be in the process of clearing the virus after a few days (at which time the antivirals have nothing to target any more).
Hope this helps,
Thomas
