Do people with hep B find true love?

How do you find true love with hep B?

Find someone that loves you for who you are. Anyone who truly loves you will be wiling to work things out.
It was suggested to me that I find someone who also had HBV as you don’t catch it twice…but that would leave me looking for someone who had it…there aren’t exactly dating sites for us. And would you fall in love with someone BECAUSE they had it? Sort of narrows the playing field.
I know how hard this is, believe me. There really aren’t answers so much as more questions.
Like finding love for anyone, it usually happens when least expected…

Never allowed yourself to be pitied to be loved
Is just like saying can someone who is hypertensive and diabetic find true love
If your partner is fully vaccinated and has developed antibodies to hepatitis b you are good to go
I think media and medical people have not been fair to people living with hepatitis b
I read a of some one who cleared hepatitis b after 17 years of living with chronic hepatitis b ,and guess what ?the man shared his love stories too how he’s currently married to a consultant nephrologists
His story was very inspiring some body can help us Post that story too
Please kindly focus on your God if you believe in God
The right person would accept you for who you are

Yes, we have here many couples where one partner is hep b positive and other one is negative. Why not? Someone who truly loves you will jump into a boat and sail through the storms with you. Do not feel disappointed as it has nothing to do with your hep b status. Look around yourself, how many people still didnt find their true love, not all of them are hep b positive, some of them are negative and still didnt find.

There is a very effective vaccine for HBV, so a marriage partner can be very well protected from an HBV infected partner. In many countries, there is a strong stigma against persons with HBV, so this may mean finding a “true” love more difficult. I think you should always inform your potential partner about your HBV status, if she/he cannot accept this, then so be it. Many couples are still happily married even when one partner discovered that the other is HBV infected, before or after marriage.

I think it’s possible, but it is hard because once you share with one person who you think you can trust and they have a negative reaction, it becomes a lot harder to share again. after one of my exs had a negative reaction, I’ve had a lot harder time opening up and building real relationships because of fear… I know this is stupid but I am also scared of telling someone and then they tell other people, which is less than ideal because of the stigma.

I also have a hard time deciding when to tell people who I am seeing (obviously before we get physical) that I have HBV. People google it and the first thing it says is “MORE CONTAGIOUS THAN AIDS!!!” and they get scared. It is such a nuanced and complex thing, but I try to tell myself if someone really cares about me they will take the time to learn about it and see that it is preventable for them.

Thank you @Lilibet94 for raising this important topic that I think everyone here has struggled with. I was lucky that my now-wife had asked me about my hep B status hours after meeting me (I brought her to the lab where I worked to pick up my bag and was discussing my research) - she just took it in stride, learnt more about it, and just made sure that she was vaccinated.

I know that I might have just been lucky (not only for this initial interaction, but also scoring a wonderful, caring, and beautiful wife!), but know that it can happen.
