As mentioned by @availlant in the other thread, the test with S/CO is a qualitative test (just a measure of presence or absence) whereas the test with IU/mL is a quantitative test (measures how much there is). They cannot be compared, and you can’t say anything about how much the levels have changed (if at all) over that time.
HBsAg level is not related to liver disease outcomes, so this not necessarily “bad” and does not indicate anything about liver damage risk.

Sorry to have another question, I was walking in a car park and my pram wheels/shoes walked across ambiguous red/brown stains on the ground before I realized what I had walked over. Unfortunately I do have a fear of blood regardless. But I was just wondering, if I couldn’t see any dried “blood” transfer and it’s been a week, would you say it’s safe to use my pram and shoes again?
For example when I go to a playground with my kids my shoes inevitably go on their pants if we play on the slides etc. and then we go home in the same clothes. I think you get what mean. Basically is there any real risk in the scenario I described if it happened to be infected blood or is it negligible/given it’s been a week the virus may not even be infectious?

The chance of contracting HBV under this circumstance is zero. You don’t even know if this was blood, or if it is blood and not ketchup if the blood was HBV+, and if it were HBV, sitting exposed on a car park would kill it relatively rapidly. Don’t worry about this.

If I may, I have heard through x,y and z resources that HBV is resistant to UV rays unless “prolonged”. When you say “relatively rapidly” what’s your scientific thought on this, do you imply minutes, hours or days? Yes I don’t even know if it was blood or not, but I’m interested for the future as well because, life happens. The day I came across it, it was winter and cloudy. Does HBV still not like the “carpark” environment regardless? If I’m not wrong UV can still be present even when cloudy.
I appreciate your responses because they really do reduce “fear” around these things and provide people freedom. There is no replacement for real people and real answers.

Hi @Caz-anonymous,
I’m not sure how to relate a lot of the studies of HBV inactivation with UV to that of the output of the sun. Generally I would not be counting on the UV rays in particular to be the driving force of inactivation, but probably a combination of drying, dilution, and simply not having a break in your skin to be the reason why transmission from surfaces is very inefficient.
