Hi everyone, pls I want to know if bloated stomach, constant feeling of dizziness and tiredness symptoms of HBV. I am an inactive HBV patient with viral load of 1,800, HBEag negative, LFT and ultrasound results are okay. My doctor advised I should start treatment when my viral load rose from 400 to 1,800. I have been on TDF for about two months now but even before I started treatment, I’ve been having bloated stomach, dizziness and tiredness daily. Please are there people who have experienced this before and how can I improve my condition?
Hi @Fred,
Welcome to the community. It is hard to say, because many other illnesses can cause those symptoms. HBV can cause some fatigue but not sure about bloating and dizziness. Check to make sure you are not dehydrated or eating something that is causing the bloating like milk, cheese, eggs, cabbage, etc. I am doubtful that all this is from HBV. I personally experience daily tiredness/fatigue. Talk to your doctor about these symptoms as well. Best, Bansah1
Hi
Are you retaining water? Are your ankles and feet swollen? I had to get my stomach drained and go on water pills for 6-8 weeks.
Fatigue is a common thing for many of us with HBV…

Hi @Fred,
Do you have fibroscan results to measure your liver health and potential fibrosis?
On the whole, Hep B does not usually cause these sort of symptoms. It may be worth seeing your physician about other issues that may be related to your symptoms.
Hope this helps,
Thomas
Thanks Denny, my ankles and feet are not swollen, Ultrasound shows I have excess stomach gas which my doctor prescribed antacids but doesn’t seem to be helping.
Thanks Thomas, I haven’t had fibroscan, I only had ultrasound and LFT Which are okay. And the viral load of 1,800 before I started taking TDF. I will still redo viral load after 3 months according to my doctor
And please are there vitamin supplements one can take alongside TDF to help increase energy levels?
I still get that…seems to get expelled when I pee. Never had that before but they’re checking something with my bladder because I’m slower expelling urine tan I used to be so it has a tendency to build up a bit…ergo the gas.

Regarding the bloating or the gastric symptoms try to work on your diet and make sure you have enough sleep that will definitely help with fatigue.i had those symptoms but diet and enough sleep help and I was gluten intolerant and had to stop using gluten which definitely help with the bloating and stomach issues .
