In the community lately, there have been chats about Australian visa applications. Visa applications are a not-so-easy process. Fortunately, AHSM has just produced a publication on migration law and hepatitis B intended as a general guide for clinicians. This is also a great resource for those applying for an Australian visa.
Please note this guide should not be relied on as legal advice. It is recommended that applicants talk to a lawyer or registered migration agent about their situation.
You are welcome to share your questions or experiences with visa applications here.
Health + Law has just released two webinars on hepatitis B and migration. I highly recommend that those applying for Australian visas watch these webinars to gain a clear understanding of the country’s visa policies.
In the webinar, ‘An Introduction to Hepatitis B and Migration in Australia’, presented by the Health+Law Partnership, leading experts in Australian migration law and hepatitis B in Australia discuss some of these challenges and provide an overview of this area.
This webinar is useful for people working across migration, legal, community and health sectors, migrants and visitors who are living with or affected by hepatitis B, and those who work with people in these communities.
In the second webinar, ‘’ Hepatitis B and Migration to Australia: Navigating and Supporting Medical, Legal and Other Processes", Deputy Principal Solicitor Vikas Parwani (HALC), Professor Benjamin Cowie (WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis) and Lucy Clynes (Hepatitis Australia) answer key questions about hepatitis B and migration law in Australia, including how clinicians, support workers, peers and lawyers can support better migration outcomes for their clients and patients.
If you have any questions feel free to post it in this thread or contact Health + Law. Also, let us know what you think of the videos.
