It looks like Ausper Bio launched a trial for a 2nd generation ASO. AHB-137 is currently in Ph3 trials and this new compound is AHB-171. However, I cant seem to find any info about the difference between the two drugs. Maybe some of the experts here know something more about AHB-171? @ThomasTu

@Mike2 Hi Mike, as I know, AHB-171 is an siRNA drug, and it is now in Phase 2.
perhaps they are exploring other options because AHB-137 may not performed as well as expected, this is just my guess.
If I remember correctly AHB-137 had results right on par with Bepirovirsen. Also had even greater results with NA naiive patients.

Just reached out to my contacts at Ausper Bio and this is what they have said:
AHB-137 is an ASO targeting HBV, which is our backbone therapy for functional cure.
AHB-171 is an siRNA targeting HBV, which is positioned to be combined with AHB-137 to further boost functional cure rate and expand HBV patient population.
The backbone-centered combination approach is very much like that for the success of HCV cure.

Isn’t this approach like that of GSK’s in B-United trial which is using daplusiran/tomligisiran followed by Bepirovirsen to increase FC?
When are those preliminary results from the clinical trial supposed to be released for the dap/bepi?
Yes, it does sound similar.

I don’t know exactly when the results will be released. The study finishes next spring/summer, so then they will need to analyze all of the data and compile it into a presentation. I’m hoping they might present it at AASLD liver meeting next November. That’s just my guess.
