I just want to remind you that you can live a healthy, happy, and meaningful life with Hepatitis B.
I am living with Hepatitis B too, and I choose to focus on my health every day. I eat healthy, take care of my liver, stay active, and follow my doctor’s advice. Because of these habits, I continue to enjoy life and look forward to the future.
Don’t let fear or stigma define you. A diagnosis is not the end of your story. With regular medical follow-ups and a healthy lifestyle, many people with Hepatitis B live long and fulfilling lives.
Take care of yourself, stay positive, and never lose hope. We are stronger than this disease.
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I have chronic Hepatitis B too, but I don’t experience right-side abdominal pain. I think it’s important to let your doctor know about your pain so they can check whether it’s related to your liver or something else. I hope you feel better soon. Stay strong.
I think we should make this thread a monument to the strength we all have. I am inspired by @et5656 running her marathon! Here’s my contribution: deadlifting a bit over double my body weight. Could have better form, but feeling some progress!
Well done ThomasTu!, you are showing excellent power and to do twice your body weight. That’s pretty phenomenal:). You are quite right in saying et5656 is inspiring with her commitment to train and compete in the marathon!.
I think thats the great thing about exercise and sports. There’s so much variety to choose from. You are going for power. et5656 is going for long distance endurance. Personally I’m probably somewhere between, strength.
To continue with the momentum of the thread, I will include my progress. I attempted to run up a hill at the beginning of the year. My first attempt didn’t take me far. But after about 2 months I finally managed to do it in a single attempt. It takes about 5-6 minutes, I try to do it twice in one session, and 2 or 3 sessions a week. Nothin like a demanding marathon, but I like the short and intense nature of it. I am still having trouble with my right deltoid so I have been avoiding any upper body exercises for now. Hopefully it sorts it self out soon.
Thanks @MikeT. Strength and explosive power is not my forte. I actually dislike short, intense efforts. I would much rather do a half marathon, as opposed to a 1500 m or mile race on the track. I hope your shoulder heals up soon, but yeah, hill training is incredibly effective for improving running fitness.
If anyone here is in a financial position to be able to donate, my marathon fundraiser is here Hepatitis B Foundation. Proceeds go to the Hepatitis B Foundation. Donations are tax deductible if you live in the United States, but anyone can donate from anywhere. If you live outside of the United States, be aware of currency conversion rates. I’d recommend checking on https://www.xe.com/ to get an idea of how much you might be paying in your local currency. Thank you in advance!!!
In my experience, quitting sugar and dairy products has helped me feel better. If you drink alcohol, it’s best to avoid it completely if you have chronic Hepatitis B. Eat plenty of vegetables, stay well hydrated by drinking lots of water, and one drink that has worked well for me is black coffee without sugar or milk. Of course, everyone’s situation is different, so it’s always a good idea to discuss diet changes with your doctor.
That’s incredibly impressive, Thomas! Your dedication and strength are truly inspiring. It shows that with proper medical care, a healthy lifestyle, and consistency, people living with Hepatitis B can still achieve amazing things. Thank you for motivating all of us.
