I am very worried about my results

So in my case, does it mean that my liver is already severely damaged?

My iron level is high and transferrin saturation is 84%, but ferritin is 55.

I also read somewhere that my ferritin level of 55 might be misleading — and that it could actually be higher.

Is that really possible?

I’m very worried that my liver might be damaged.

Dear @babytobeast,

If your HBV DNA is > 20,000 IU/mL, treatment initiation is usually considered even with normal ALT. Your hematology is not really that far out of normal. You should just keep an eye on subsequent test results with your doctor.

Are these iron levels really not considered a significant deviation from normal?

Because to me, this looks like a very serious deviation:

Serum Iron: 217 µg/dL

UIBC: 42 µg/dL

TIBC: 259 µg/dL

Transferrin Saturation: 84%

Ferritin: 55 ng/mL

I might be able to accept the iron level as something that can be corrected,

but my transferrin saturation of 84% really scares me.

Dear @Berserk123,

Your hematology results (not the direct iron related measurements) are the more important measure of your body’s ability to produce the important components of blood. These are only marginally out of normal for red blood cell metrics. The ferritin levels are something to be monitored but not to be anxious about.
