It is shocking to see there are so many unknowns regarding the basic demographic information in today’s clinical trials, even though it has been well-recognised that biological differences exist between different populations. It would be reasonable to conclude that there are almost no African participants in these trials from looking at the trial-conducting locations (there’s only one trial recruited people in Africa), but the lack of direct data evidence would still make it hard to call for awareness of equity.
