I am currently taking Advo-Emtivir for hepatitis B since May 2024 . I have been doing checkups every 6 months and everything liver and kidney function tests always come normal. And I have undetectable viral load. however I have been feeling lightheaded for a couple of weeks, going to the normal doctor but I’m not getting better. Could it be medication making me feel this way?

I am sorry to hear about this. I just looked it up and dizziness is one of the possible side effects. Please have a conversation with the prescriber to see if what you are experiencing is from the medicine or something else (many things can cause dizziness/lightheadedness such as dehydration, standing up too quickly, low blood pressure and sugar, low heart rate, electrolyte imbalance, among others), and whether it is possible to switch if that is an option.

I agree with @Bansah1, though it’s strange to me that you would just start experiencing this now when you’ve been on this medication for 2 years already. But yes, please have a conversation with your doctor.
