Hi,

Dear @Hf334 usually, you need to do a medical check-up when applying for a work visa or student visa. HIV is usually one of the required tests, but as far as I know, HBV is not normally included. To be sure, you can call the local medical exam center or go there in person to check their process and instructions. Overall, you don’t need to worry too much.
Dear@Hf334 , based on my son’s experience who is currently pursuing a PhD, when applying for a postgraduate student visa, the medical checkup included additional test for liver function and an ultrasound scan. All of the examination results were excellent, and as a result , my son’s visa was granted in less than 1 month from initialvisa application submission. Keep your spirits up and don’t let Hep B stop you from chasing your dream. God Bless You .
The Australia visa subclass 500 generally does not require any HepB test.
If the degree is healthcare-related, you might need to do an extra test for HepB; it’s fine. For nursing and clinic practitioners, viral load needs to be under 2000 IU/L.
If you want to stay for permanent residency, you are required to do the HepB test -but this does not mean you are not eligible. All you need to do is reveal your information. Personally, I don’t like these policies because I don’t see why.
